Altantuya murder suit: Family appeals for higher compensation
The family of murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu is appealing for a higher compensation than the RM5 million awarded by the High Court in Shah Alam. The family’s counsel, Sangeet Kaur Deo, confirmed with Malaysiakini that the family members had filed the appeal to the Court of Appeal back in January.

Court of Appeal acquits young Nepali of countryman’s murder
A young Nepali accused of murdering his fellow citizen at a factory hostel seven years ago, has been acquitted by the Court of Appeal. Kapar Rupesh Kumar, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, saw a three-member Court of Appeal bench led by Justice Kamaludin Md Said overturn his conviction.

Anwar to continue challenge of Parliament’s 2021 suspension
Anwar Ibrahim is proceeding with his appeal in the Federal Court to challenge former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to suspend Parliament during the 2021 emergency. Anwar’s lawyer, Sangeet Kaur Deo, said she had instructions from him to argue the case after the Federal Court granted him leave last year.

Altantuya Murder: Court orders government to pay RM5m to family
The Shah Alam High Court ordered the government and three others to pay RM5 million to the family of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu who was murdered in 2006. Civil court judge Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera’s verdict in favour of the family this morning comes 15 years after the civil action was filed in 2007.
